Evolution instead of revolution is the motto of the latest makeover that mail-order company Rose has given the tried-and-tested "Carbon SL" frame. Internally routed brake and gear cables and a newly designed bottom bracket shell with pressed-in bearings from Shimano keep the lightweight, stiff frameset up to date. The superior handling in every riding situation remains unchanged. Maximum directional stability, optimum power transmission and even some noticeable damping on the saddle make riding the seven-kilo racer a special pleasure. The equipment is typically opulent: carbon-reinforced "Dura-Ace" wheels, whose low weight contributes significantly to the light-footed handling, are just the icing on the cake on a bike that deserves the title of "thoroughbred racer" like few others.
