In the course of the recall, sales figures were also announced: "1,765 vehicles" are affected across Europe, according to the press release.
Under certain circumstances, the wheels may show premature signs of fatigue, which could possibly lead to fork cracks or breakages. Specifically, this concerns the following models from different model years:
- Haibike XDURO Urban (model years 2014, 2015)
- Haibike XDURO Urban RC (model year 2016)
- Haibike XDURO Race (model years 2014, 2015)
- Haibike XDURO Superrace (model years 2014, 2015)
- Haibike XDURO Race S RX (model year 2016)
- Haibike XDURO Race S PRO (model year 2016)
- Haibike XDURO Urban S RX (model year 2016)
- Haibike XDURO Urban S PRO (model year 2016)
"The fork fitted to the Haibike Race, Superrace and Urban models could show premature signs of fatigue if subjected to load tests that exceed the norm. As a result, the fork may crack or break under certain circumstances. At the present time, a manufacturer's fault cannot be ruled out. For safety reasons, all e-bikes mentioned must therefore be taken out of service immediately," the manufacturer's statement reads.
