Next round: 15 bikes priced between 1,300 and 1,500 euros took part in the TOUR test in April 2005 - that's an average of around 500 euros less than the test field in March 2005. However, it turned out to be a misconception that the inexpensive racers would also offer lower quality and performance for less money.
SHORT & SHORT
In the price range between € 1,300 and € 1,500, you can find top technology at fair prices - some of the bikes tested easily outperform many competitors that are more than twice as expensive. The performances of the mail-order racers from Red Bull and Canyon are particularly impressive. But buying a bike from a catalogue is not everyone's cup of tea. So it's all the more pleasing that classic dealer brands also offer affordable top quality, for example Chaka, Cube, Ghost and Müsing. At the bottom of the test field are bikes that could be better: Cucuma and Faggin made annoying design errors: On these test bikes, riding fun and safety unfortunately fell by the wayside.
You can find these bikes in the test:
Canyon Passione Elite, Centurion Hyperdrive 3000, Chaka Ala, Corratec Racetech Pro SL, Cube Race Agree Black LIne, Cucuma L05, Faggin Lombardia C, Ghost Race 6000, Giant OCR Zero T, Müsing LTD Onroad, Radon Boa Litening Race 5.0, Red Bull SL 3000, Specialized Allez Elite, Storck Vision, Trek 1400
