When developing the "Opium CR", Poison sought advice from cross specialist Oliver Corpus, known for his own brand OCCP. The main reason why the bike really gets going is the lightweight wheels with the ingenious Grifo tubular tyres from Challenge. The smooth running, damping and grip of the glued-on tyres are second to none, and the subsequent switch to much less supple clincher tyres is difficult. The rest of the equipment also reveals expertise. The "BB7" disc brakes can be easily controlled by the "Ultegra" brake levers. The cranks are set up for off-road riding with a 46/36 tooth gradation. An interesting detail is the front derailleur converter from Speen, which allows the front derailleur to be controlled directly from above without a pulley. All in all, the price is more than fair for the quality on offer.
