Cross specialist Oliver Corpus has repeatedly caused a stir with his OCCP brand in recent years. This time too, he has succeeded - unfortunately in a negative sense. During our brake tests, the cantilever brake's cable counter-holder mounted on the fork crown literally buckled - the brake failed completely; the same thing happened with a second counter-holder of the same design, which we then requested from the manufacturer. Obviously, the component is undersized and cannot withstand the pulling force of the brake lever. Because of this safety-relevant defect, which we have already informed the manufacturer about, the bike is not rated in our test.
Corpus will not continue to fit the counterholder until the cause has been clarified and will equip the model with a conventional counterholder on the headset for the time being.
