OCCP Step Al-Disk
Great brakes, experienced geometry, great tyres - and still fairly priced. What more could you want?

OCCP maker and cross specialist Oliver Corpus was tired of the constant nagging about cantilever brakes and has developed an off-road racer with disc brakes. That's a good thing: The mechanically cable-actuated stoppers from the manufacturer Bengal are powerful - a dream compared to the cantilever competition. The modulation at the front is not far removed from a hydraulic disc brake, but the performance at the rear suffers somewhat due to the long cable; a stiffer outer casing could help here. The front cable routing is also not yet optimised. Otherwise, the aluminium racer, which is inexpensive in the test field, is convincing across the board. Although the weight is higher than that of Focus, Kocmo and Stevens, the bike is agile and very comfortable to ride. The Grifo tubular tyres, which are mounted on sturdy, hand-spoked wheels, contribute to this.
