Nox is a subsidiary brand of the Berlin mountain bike manufacturer Hawk. The frame of the "Crossfire Disc" impresses with good stiffness values, is neatly finished, has a durable paint finish and has eyelets for mounting mudguards. The price of 298 euros including fork is also interesting for self-builders. The built-in parts mix works reliably, but is not always state of the art. For example, the brake levers from Shimano's entry-level "Sora" groupset only operate nine sprockets, and ergonomically they can't keep up with newer Shimano levers. The "BB7" disc brakes are convincing, although they would have even more braking power with higher-quality, stiffer cables. Due to the high weight, to which the heavy trekking bike wheels from Shimano contribute significantly, the bike lacks a little liveliness. However, the favourable price puts this criticism into perspective.
