The model name Merak goes back a long way in the history of De Rosa. In 2000, Latvian Romāns Vainšteins became world champion on a bike of the same name. The current Merak is primarily aimed at low weight. According to De Rosa, the carbon frame weighs just 800 grams, although the size is not specified. According to De Rosa, the Merak is the most important bike in the current model range and is suitable for numerous usage scenarios, ranging from professional races to demanding granfondos.
