Visually in the traditional De Rosa look with curved shapes, the new Ido is intended to be a compromise between performance and comfort, according to the manufacturer.
The new Idol, which De Rosa itself describes as a mid-range model, ranks below De Rosa's top-of-the-range Merak race bike. However, this categorisation is expressly intended to refer only to the price and not the performance. Formally, the carbon frame is characterised by curved tube shapes; the frame weight is specified by De Rosa at 1,000 grams. Standard models with Shimano-Ultegra and Campagnolo-Potenza groupsets are available in six frame sizes each.
