Why does a brand like Cervélo, which stands for pure racing, offer a gravel bike like the Áspero?
Because, according to the manufacturer, the bike is a "gravel race bike". This is the Canadians' response to the fact that gravel bike events in North America are increasingly turning into tough races. The Áspero is designed for 28-inch wheels with tyres up to 53 millimetres wide or 650B wheels with tyres up to 59 millimetres wide. Adjustable wheel mounts on the fork allow the steering geometry to be adapted. Other features include mounting options for various panniers, three bottle cage positions and a robust plastic protector for the down tube.
