Fans of the traditional Italian brand can look forward to two new models for 2018. With the Oltre XR3, Bianchi is launching an affordable offshoot of the XR4 professional bike. The aero frame should weigh a good 1,100 grams in size 55 and, like the top model, comes with the patented Countervail technology, in which an additional elastic material in the carbon fibre is designed to eliminate fine vibrations from bumps in the road. In terms of aerodynamics, the frameset should also offer the same performance as the professional racer. Prices start at 3,150 euros with Shimano's 105 equipment and favourable Fulcrum aluminium wheels, and around 5,200 euros with mechanical Dura-Ace and Fulcrum Racing Quattro wheels.
The new Bianchi Aria follows the aero trend even more consistently. With its aggressively flat riding position, the bike is intended to appeal primarily to price-conscious amateur triathletes, as it can be easily converted into a triathlon bike and back again with an aero attachment for the handlebars. The sleek frame is available in eight sizes, the offer with Campagnolo's Centaur groupset starts at 2,599 euros.
