Instead of BB90, the Madone SL model year 2022 will now be delivered with a T47 bottom bracket. According to Trek, the bottom bracket should be easier to maintain. The aero racer is available in three colour variants. Like its predecessor, the new Madone SL has hydraulic disc brakes and Isospeed suspension: a joint on the seat tube decouples the saddle from the frame and thus improves riding comfort. The retail price for the Madone SL 6 is 4,999 euros. It can be ordered immediately from Trek dealers.
We tested the previous Madone SL model in TOUR 2/2020. The only criticism was the high weight - the good aerodynamics were praised: "The Madone SL7 is perfectly tailored to long solo rides with not too many metres in altitude. The relatively high weight is less of a problem here, while the good aerodynamics really come into their own," was our test conclusion.
