This year's Madone SLR is made from "800 Series OCLV Carbon". According to Trek, it is stronger than previous OCLV carbon laminates and just as stiff. This allows the engineers at Trek to use less material in high-stress areas of the frame and build a lighter bike overall. The new Madone is said to be up to 450 grams lighter than its predecessor.
The new Madone SLR is now only available with disc brakes. New compared to the previous model: the Madone now has a bolted T47 bottom bracket. In addition, the smallest version of the Madone is now also available in frame size 47.

With Trek's Project One custom bike programme, customers can have their bike built to their own specifications. The new Madone SLR is now available through Trek's dealer network.
