Kuota Kuraro 2013
Aerodynamically good, relatively heavy frame with high riding stability and balanced riding characteristics. The swivelling seat post allows a wide range of riding positions.

At best, the extremely narrow seat tube fulfils the formal expectations of a typical aero frame. Otherwise, neither the voluminous head tube nor the massive down tube with its diamond cross-section suggest that the Kuraro will deliver particularly good aero performance. But the frame proves the sceptics wrong. 350.4 watts means a good third place in the wind tunnel evaluation, and with Zipp 808 wheels a significant jump is possible. In the riding test, the bike impresses with its unwavering smoothness - the result of high rigidity, a long wheelbase and balanced steering geometry. Surprisingly, the seat post, which can be rotated 180 degrees, still offers decent suspension despite its aero profile. The paintwork finish is immaculate and the integrated cable routing is easy to fit. The price is reasonable for the equipment chosen from an extensive modular programme with Campa's Chorus groupset and Cosmic Carbone SLE wheels. The statutory warranty of two years on the frame and fork only fulfils the minimum legal requirement, but Kuota offers a warranty extension to ten years including crash replacement regulation for an additional charge.
