Koga Solacio 2013
No frills, stable riding, simple equipment without weaknesses, good value. Only five sizes available.

The carbon frame of the Solacio is the same as that of Haibike, a sister brand of Koga. Technically flawless, it conveys a certain visual lightness with the gentle curve in the top tube and the Monostay rear triangle. In order to keep the price below 2,000 euros, some savings were made on the equipment. The mechanical Ultegra drivetrain is joined by simple FSA cranks and Shimano brakes without group integration; this does not result in any functional losses. You have to carry your own spanner for the Torx screw on the seat clamp - a little inconvenient. Otherwise, the bike impresses with its unobtrusive handling, pleasant damping, smooth running and manoeuvrable steering. The puncture-proof 25-millimetre Vredestein tyres roll easily, while the thin top link is a matter of taste.
