It is attached with the supplied quick release, which fixes the angle eyelets to the dropouts - and at the top with a small bracket plus retaining arm in the centre of the brake bridge. However, the system does not fit every frame, as the lower eyelets require a smooth surface on the inside or outside of the dropouts for mounting. Bontrager also advises against mounting the carrier on full carbon dropouts. At the top, it is advisable to mount it on the left and right seat stays if possible. A suitable clamp system for different seat tube diameters is available from Tubus, for example, for eight euros. This makes it much easier to cope with fast descents in particular, as the carrier can hardly twist when loaded. The mounting with angle eyelets is generally positive, as they provide around three centimetres of additional space so that you can't get your shoes on the panniers.
