With the Affair RC, Haibike proves that you can get a lot out of an existing frame platform with targeted model updates. Small changes to the carbon structure and a seatpost that flexes well have made the frame more stable and comfortable to ride than in previous tests, without losing its greatest asset, the low set weight. The aerodynamic full carbon wheels from Reynolds - still a rare exception in this price region - are a tempting argument in competition. In the riding test, the bike fully lived up to expectations. The low weight is particularly noticeable when pedalling. The suspension masters speedy descents with aplomb, the damping is excellent. The absence of rebound stops in conjunction with the Di2 is consistent and rounds off the successful performance.
