For a long time, copper-red steel frames were Wilier's distinctive feature. The "Ramato" look is now celebrating a comeback at the 100th Giro d'Italia. Former star Filippo Pozzato, captain of the Wilier-Triestina team, will be riding the new "Cento10AIR ramato" on some of the stages.
Even Fiorenzo Magni, who won Flanders three times in the 1950s, rode his races on ramato-coloured Wilier bikes. The copper colour is part of Wilier's corporate identity - even in the carbon age. Instead of heavy copper coatings, however, the new model uses a special paint finish that simulates the copper look.
You can find a detailed test of the "Cento10AIR" including aero values in our April issue 2017.
