The TCR-Advanced frame, which has been completely revised for 2012, has the typical Giant silhouette with a steeply sloping top tube, aero seat tube and small rear triangle. One of the new features is that the diameter of the steering bearings has been increased to 1-1/4 inches at the top and 1.5 inches at the bottom. This is good for the torsional rigidity of the chassis, although the previous model did not appear to be undersized. Also new - albeit inspired by Trek - is the idea of embedding a transmitter in the chainstay that communicates with ANT+-compatible computers. The Di2 battery sits under the left-hand chainstay, while the inputs for the shift cables remain at the front of the head tube as a rudiment that the frame doesn't need in the Di2 version. The Giant-labelled wheels make a good impression, although other manufacturers already offer high-quality branded wheels in this price range.
