The Gran Fondo was developed for long distances. With its short top tube and long head tube, it appeals to riders who prefer to sit in a relaxed position. The high level of riding stability and the suspension comfort are likely to appeal to the target group. The bike also scores sympathy points with its pretty tricolour paintwork. However, the picture is spoilt by the relatively high weight of 8.5 kilos, the highest value in this test. Especially the fork and the single wheel weigh heavily on the scales. The rest of the equipment with Rotor cranks (with round chainrings) and Oval brakes is fine, although the braking performance suffers from stiff cables. There is also room for improvement in terms of Di2 integration. Broken cable entries on the down tube show that the frame was primarily developed for mechanical shifting.
