The Izalco Team SL 4.0 is based on the "old" Izalco frame, which was the brand's top model last year. With a set weight of 1,400 grams, the very stiff frame still performs very well. On the test lap, the racer impressed with its good response behaviour and smooth running, while the stretched seating position appeals to riders who enjoy racing. The test bike is also the first production bike with SRAM's new Force groupset, which now also has eleven sprockets. Compared to the Ultegra, it scores points with its low weight and crisp, precise shifting behaviour; Shimano is ahead when it comes to the brakes. The Force callipers are powerful, but feel sluggish and less easy to modulate. Schwalbe's lightweight One tyres on high-quality Fulcrum wheels round off the convincing impression.
