Cube Peloton
Real racing bike fun for the visually discerning on a tight budget.

Even the most demanding road cyclists could do worse than being loaned the "Peloton" from Cube at a training camp. Despite the favourable price, the 900-euro racer conveys an unrestricted racing bike feeling. The brakes decelerate reliably, the triple gearbox with nine sprockets shifts precisely and offers transmission reserves even for very steep hills; the saddle and handlebars feel no worse than on more expensive bikes. The makers deserve special respect for the successful colour coordination of components and frame, which makes the bike look as if it has been cast from a single mould. Riding stability is not an issue due to the heavy, stiff frame, although the overall weight is still okay considering the heavy triple drivetrain. Frequent riders are most likely to push the simple Shimano wheels with their rough-running hubs to their limits.

*Weighted weights; **Test frame size greased; ***Frame height: projected measurement from centre of bottom bracket to upper edge of head tube; cant: saddle/head tube cant at 75 cm seat height (centre of saddle frame - upper edge of headset cap).
