The frame, which has been updated several times, has an independent and modern look. With press-fit bearings, tapered steerer tube and Di2 preparation, it is technically up to date. The test bike fell slightly short of expectations in terms of the measured values, as an identical model (in TOUR 4/2012 ->) 100 grams lighter and a good 10 per cent stiffer. The fork comfort could also be better. Cube traditionally has a good hand when it comes to equipment: The Ultegra groupset is joined by high-quality components from Syntace, whose HiFlex post helps the Litening on the saddle to achieve acceptable comfort. The most effective tuning measure is probably the wheels; the DT Swiss models fitted are comparatively heavy and were noticeable with slight brake stuttering on the front wheel when riding fast.
