The formally independent Defy Advanced impresses with its high level of riding comfort.
The Defy Advanced Pro 1 impresses with a beautifully crafted carbon frame and outstanding rear shock absorption.

In addition to the 25-millimetre tyres, the carbon seatpost, which is flattened at the rear, is primarily responsible for the latter. The measured values do not show the Defy to be overly stable. Thanks to the long wheelbase and laterally stiff fork, the bike is nevertheless very stable. The hydraulic Shimano brakes with 140-millimetre discs were not entirely convincing. The small diameter saves weight compared to 160 millimetre discs, but noticeably reduces braking power. The 140 mm discs do not offer a decisive advantage over good rim brakes, at least in dry conditions. The Defy scores plus points with its well-shaped handlebars and the comfortable Aliante saddle from Fizik.

CONCLUSION Disc racer with individual frame and top suspension comfort on the saddle. Well equipped, small brake discs
