An impressive ability of the Koblenz-based mail order company is to continuously improve existing designs through consistent further development. The most recent example: Although it has been on the market for several years, the Ultimate CF SLX set two new records in this test.

Never before has a frame achieved a score of 1.3 in the TOUR lab test, and never before has a road bike frame been tuned more comfortably. Even more impressive than the fork, which offers better suspension than any carbon fork before it, is the canyon seatpost, which has been turned into a real suspension beam thanks to a proportion of basalt fibres. Only the external cables and the classic threaded bottom bracket show that the frame is no longer state of the art - although both features also have advantages in terms of service. Mechanically, the model is perfect - the comparatively high air resistance shouldn't matter to many road cyclists. Especially as Canyon also has an aero frame in its programme with the Aeroad.

ConclusionThe most comfortable frame that TOUR has ever tested. Mechanically perfect, but relatively high air resistance.
