The most remarkable detail on the aluminium racer from the Koblenz-based mail order company is the VCLS leaf spring support, which catapults the bike into a different comfort league for an extra 130 euros. The riding experience is like being on a very well-damped carbon racer. You wouldn't dream of sitting on a bike with an aluminium frame. Canyon makes no compromises in other respects either. The lightweight fork and the externally adjustable special Acros headset reduce the set weight to 1,664 grams - the second best value in this test. Despite this, the suspension remains unruffled - thanks to exorbitant stiffness values. The Di2 drivetrain with internally routed cables and the battery positioned under the bottom bracket is integrated in a visually appealing way.
