Formally, Canyon is taking a new direction with the Aeroad CF. The flat down tube, a tapered head tube and low-set seat stays mark a departure from the previous pursuit of maximum stiffness and low weight. The result in the wind tunnel is not quite as convincing as expected, most competitors are better. On the other hand, the riding characteristics are good. With a reassuring 89 Newton metres per gad in the steering head, even heavy riders can cope, and the aero seatpost provides very good suspension. Rotating inserts in the fork dropouts allow the trail to be tuned between a manoeuvrable 50 and a balanced 60 millimetres. The equipment with Campa's Super Record groupset and Cosmic Carbon Ultimate wheels is hard to beat. The very stretched seating position characterises the bike as a robust racing machine.
