The CAAD 10 frame could be the forerunner of an aluminium revival. At 1,300 grams in size 58 - painted, mind you - and top stiffness values, it even leaves many carbon frames behind. The new pricing policy of the US brand is also remarkable: with Ultegra braking and shifting technology, BB30 cranks from FSA and Mavic Akksium wheels, the equipment is at class level - this was often different in the past. In the saddle, the Cannondale feels unobtrusive in the best sense of the word: The geometry with a long wheelbase and moderate trail makes the bike as smooth-running as it is manoeuvrable. All the more annoying is the brake rubbing due to poorly finished rim joints. The rear end surprises with a healthy firmness, the seat post from the CAAD 10 with 105 groupset tested in TOUR 1/11 was much more comfortable.
