The Swiss road bike manufacturer BMC is recalling all models of the Teammachine SLR01 Disc from model years 2018 and 2019. These models were on sale from June 2017. The reason for the recall is technical problems with the fork, which, according to the manufacturer, "could result in a possible breakage of the head tube".
Affected customers should therefore take their bike to the nearest BMC dealer, where safety checks will be carried out. There it would be decided whether the fork needs to be replaced or whether the bike can be ridden without restrictions or safety defects.
Wheels from model years 2019 and 2018 that are equipped with rim brakes are expressly not affected by the recall. The same applies to Teammachine wheels from model year 2020.
