Bernese Cross
Cross-country nobility, built with expertise: Berner's off-road racer is pleasingly light and pleasingly affordable.

Around 15 years ago, Timo Berner was one of the German cross elite. Today, he passes on his experience with his own bike brand, which he runs together with his father Wolfgang. The simply named "Cross" test bike is straightforward, relatively light and fairly priced; its geometry is based on ideas from Timo Berner. The bike with its stiff aluminium frame tracks true to its line yet agile. The 46/39 tooth chainring combination is a good choice for off-road riding; the Rival gears from SRAM work precisely. To keep it that way for a long time, continuous pneumatic hoses protect the cables from dirt and moisture. The carbon cable counterholder developed by Berner solves one problem, but creates another. Although the fork does not wobble, the braking effect is weak in the wet.
