The fresh-looking, lime green decorative strip sets the Laguna off nicely. Its neatly crafted carbon frame makes a stable impression, while high-quality add-on parts from our own Microtech brand emphasise the solid impression. In practice, only very heavy riders are likely to notice that the frame is not a high-flyer on the test bench. In order to stay within the price range, Basso built the relatively expensive frame with Campagnolo's recently renovated entry-level "Veloce" groupset. The new shift brake levers feel great in the hands, but their very low operating forces lack the defined shifting behaviour of more expensive Campa groupsets. In addition, the shifting proved to be extremely sensitive during adjustment. Even the smallest changes in tension impaired the shifting precision.
