The Franconian carbon specialist recently made headlines due to the initiation of insolvency proceedings. According to company boss Axel Schnura, however, there is a good chance that the company will be rescued by an investor and can continue to exist in its current form. As a visible sign that things will continue, Schnura is presenting a further development of the well-known Vial Evo racing bike frame with truly spectacular key data at Eurobike.

The Vial Evo Ultra is said to weigh between 590 and 685 grams, depending on the size, ready for assembly and painted. As far as TOUR is aware, this would make it the lightest road bike frame on the market. The weight reduction was made possible primarily through the use of a new type of fibre material called Textrem, which provides a significant increase in stiffness at critical points such as the bottom bracket area. This makes it possible to build the frame correspondingly lighter. AX Lightness promises that the stiffness values of the Vial Evo Ultra are on a par with the Vial Evo. Including a fork specially developed for the frame, the Vial Evo Ultra frameset will cost 5,990 euros.
