Fast, stable, good suspension comfort on the saddle. The Giant Propel Advanced SL is superbly equipped, maximum tyre width 23 millimetres. Expensive.

Marcel Kittel's work bike is now in its third model year, but still looks spectacular. The aerodynamic handlebar/stem unit, integrated V-brakes and the striking seat dome all contribute to the bike's unique appearance. In the wind tunnel, it falls slightly behind the last test - mainly due to the improved new models from Canyon and Felt. On the other hand, the bike scores points for its high level of suspension comfort on the saddle. The equipment with Dura-Ace Di2 including Sprinter shifters and 404 wheels from Zipp is pompous. A note on the V-brakes: the stoppers, which were still made of carbon last year, are now made of aluminium and are significantly stiffer. However, the brake arms are so short that the cables run just above the tyres, leaving no room for tyres wider than 23 millimetres.
