Following the aero test in TOUR 2/2014 as the fastest road bike frame on the market, but was not as stable and comfortable. The new S5 is much improved in these areas in particular. A direct comparison of the two generations shows that the down tube is slightly more voluminous, the transition from fork to head tube has been shaped differently and the fork blades have been made wider. In the wind tunnel, the bike performs just as well as its predecessor. Interesting: With standard wheels, the cwA value is more favourable than with the Zipp 404. Part of the concept of the new S5 is an aero handlebar split in two in the clamping area, which directs the airflow around the stem clamp. One drawback remains that the bike rides extremely harshly.
