2016 winter road bike test: Bergamont Prime CX RD
The weight of more than eleven kilos is a little disillusioning on the first ride with the Bergamont - all the more astonishing how well the bike rolls once it gets going.

The fast, 30 millimetre wide tubeless tyres leave a lasting impression, providing a lot of comfort and safety even when ridden with tubes, as on the test bike. The sporty riding position is in line with a road bike and encourages you to set the pace. Deceleration is provided by mechanical disc brakes from Hayes - there are more powerful models, but they do their job; the reliability of the Shimano 105 drivetrain is well known. Everyday cycling is accompanied by an extremely practical carefree package for both sport and commuting: from the high-quality lighting system with parking light function to the SKS mudguards and the sturdy pannier rack - only quality components. The additional top handlebar brake levers are not for emergency braking, but are very practical in city traffic.

CONCLUSION Heavy but robust, functional and fully equipped. Sporty riding position, easy-rolling tubeless tyres
