For the first time, Vonoa carbon spokes from Newmen have found their way onto a gravel bike wheelset. Weighing just 2.9 grams per spoke, the Vonoa Aero spokes are very light. Thanks to their - according to the manufacturer - higher tensile strength and stiffness compared to conventional steel spokes, 21 spokes per wheel ensure an ideal balance of stiffness and comfort.

Equipped with this, Newmen presents two new Advanced SL X.R. wheelsets. The number in the model name indicates the respective profile height of the rim: The X.R.36 is therefore significantly higher than the 25 and is therefore orientated towards race and aero. Thanks to the use of carbon spokes, both models are said to be more service-friendly on the one hand, but also 40 per cent lighter and significantly stiffer on the other. The hub body of the Newmen Advanced SL X.R. Vonoa models has also been further optimised to reduce weight. However, the same technology is hidden inside the Fade R CS hubs. The hubs are therefore still characterised by low weight, high durability and a quiet freewheel noise.

Weighing just 1030 grams, the Newmen Advanced SL X.R.25 VONOA wheels are ideal for long distances. For maximum reliability, robust, flat hookless carbon rims are used, which have already proven themselves in MTB use. The rims have an inner width of 25 mm and are ideal for tyre widths between 35 and 50 millimetres. The tread height measures 25 mm, in keeping with the model name. This combination enables low air pressure, which results in more comfort, lower rolling resistance and high grip.

The Newmen Advanced SL X.R.36 Vonoa maximises the performance of race gravel bikes thanks to its high aero rim profile. With a 36 millimetre high hookless carbon rim, this wheelset offers low air resistance and good-natured handling at the same time, according to Newmen. The 1230 gram gravel wheels should also enable agile handling and explosive acceleration. As with the Streem Road wheels from Newmen, an aero valve fully integrated into the carbon rim is used.

Like all wheels with Vonoa carbon spokes, the new Advanced SL X.R.25 and 36 Gravel wheels are handmade at Newmen in Wiggensbach in the Allgäu region. Bayern also offers a 3-year warranty and a lifetime crash replacement at half the RRP.
