Cross wheelset "Alexrims ALX460 TUBULAR" (single test)
Experienced crossers know: It's only with tubular tyres that the chase through the terrain is really fun. The glued-on tyres can be ridden with significantly lower air pressure than clincher tyres. That's why they roll more easily over hill and dale, offer more comfort and better grip in bends and are also less susceptible to punctures.

If you want to make the switch to tubular tyres - which are unfortunately more complicated to fit - you can find the "ALX460 Tubular" wheelset specially developed for cross riders from rim manufacturer Alexrims. Good technical values, solid workmanship and an acceptable price of 355 euros per set including quick release make the wheels, each equipped with 28 spokes, a good investment. The weight - 732 grams at the front and 945 grams at the rear - is significantly lower than that of clincher wheels such as Mavic's "Aksium" and Fulcrum's "Racing 7". High stiffness values (90 N/mm at the front, 48 N/mm at the rear) guarantee directional stability and can cope with the frequent acceleration required for cross biking.

PLUSrelatively light; very stiff
