Classified Powershift is a two-speed gear hub. There is a transmitter on the handlebars, the thru-axle serves as a receiver and transmits the shift signal to the hub. One press of a small button on the handlebars is all it takes to change gear. Classified Powershift therefore turns single drives into double drives.
Classified has different wheel series. The new wheels belong to the R series, where the R stands for Road, and the G series, which means Gravel. Each R36, R50 and G42 wheelset is spoked and centred by hand in the Netherlands to ensure precision and reliability. The wheelsets are available from selected Classified partners. If you prefer a minimalist look, choose the decals in glossy black. The shiny white version should be chosen for greater visibility.
The most important information about the new wheels came to the editorial team as a press release. We have summarised them.
The lightweight of the newly introduced wheels is the R36, made for climbing, but should also be suitable for cobblestones and bad roads; preferably with tubeless tyres.
The R50 is designed to be an all-rounder. Its profile is aerodynamically optimised for 30 millimetre wide tyres. With a total weight of 1415 grams, it is not the worst climbing partner either. At the same time, the 50 millimetre high rims also offer good aerodynamic properties without having to worry about crosswinds.
All-round but for gravel, this is the label Classified gives the G42 wheelset. One rim weighs 410 grams, the entire wheelset weighs 1350 grams. The asymmetrical rim profile results in a more homogeneous spoke tension compared to symmetrical rims. This in turn results in a stiffer wheel.
