Specialists in their field join forces: Chris King and carbon rim manufacturer Reserve are launching their jointly developed wheels for road bikes, mountain bikes and gravel bikes. All three models in the new product line are hand-built by the renowned hub manufacturer Chris King in Portland.

Chris King and Reserve are intensifying their collaboration and presenting a new line of jointly developed carbon wheels. The co-operation, which has already enjoyed success in the racing sector, is now being expanded with three new wheel models for the end customer market.

The collaboration between the two companies has proved particularly successful in the Downhill World Cup, where Jackson Goldstone from the Santa Cruz Syndicate has already won a world championship title with the new material. This successful partnership in racing forms the basis for the wheel models now presented, which can also be purchased by private individuals.

The three new models cover the mountain bike, gravel and road segments and are built by hand in Chris King's Portland factory. The proven R45D and Mountain Boost hubs from Chris King and various carbon rim models from Reserve are used.

Technical details and model variants

The new wheel collection comprises three models specifically designed for different areas of use. For the mountain bike sector, the combination of Chris King's Mountain Boost hubs with Reserves 30HD rims is used. This rim has already proven itself in the Downhill World Cup and, according to the manufacturer, should offer an optimum balance of stiffness, weight and durability.

In the road bike segment, the manufacturers rely on the combination of Chris King's R45D hubs and Reserves 42|49TA rims, which have been specially optimised for use with tubeless tyres. For gravel enthusiasts, a wheelset with R45D hubs and 40|44GR rims is available, which has been tailored to the special requirements of the gravel bike segment.
