The Terra, the workhorse of gravel pro Paul Voss, was previously only available with drivetrains from Shimano and SRAM. The unique selling point of the Ekar is its 13th sprocket, which means that the gravel groupset from the traditional Italian manufacturer offers a wider range than the single drivetrains of its competitors. Orbea bolts the Ekar to the Terra M22 Team 1x, which is available for 5399 euros.
In addition to the equipment variant, the wheels are also new. As with the Orca Aero and Orca competition models, the Basque company now also uses carbon wheels from its own production for the Terra. However, only four models are equipped with the Oquo as standard. All other versions come with a simple aluminium wheelset.
The Terra is available with a carbon or aluminium base. In addition to the frame material, the bikes differ in terms of a storage compartment, which is only integrated into the down tube on the carbon versions. The seating position is the same for all platforms, with a STR of 1.50 it is comparatively sporty. The carbon models can be customised in an online configurator (MyO) and the components can be put together for all variants.
Speaking of paintwork: Orbea has also revised this as standard on all gravel bikes for the coming model year. The fleet with a carbon frame costs between 3199 and 5999 euros. The aluminium models are available between 2099 and 2499 euros. There is a choice of six sizes.
