Gravel bikes are at home on the road and off-road. This compromise between crosser and road bike does not always work equally well. TOUR tested six new gravel bikes under 2,000 euros.

Gravel bikes have been rolling out of their small niche and into the limelight for a good two years now, as many use them as all-season racers. More and more manufacturers are offering them, increasingly at favourable prices.

You can find the entire article with all the test results of these gravel bikes as a free PDF in the download area below:

  • Bulls Grinder 3
  • Fuji Jari 1.3
  • Genesis Croix de Fer 30
  • Koga Colmaro Allroad
  • Norco Search 105
  • Specialised Sequoia Elite

The test bikes are extremely versatile, but still follow very different approaches. This applies above all to geometry, gear ratios, luggage mounting options and tyre width. Even if each bike can do a lot, you should still have a plan of what you primarily want to do with it before you buy. All bikes work well and are robust, but are very heavy by road bike standards.

In our web gallery you will find an overview and additional details in words and pictures.

Bulls Grinder 3: Very upright riding position, plus smooth handling thanks to the 40-millimetre tyres - and fully equipped with Shimano's Ultegra groupset.
