The Megamo West has proven itself over a season of real-world use. Now the Spanish manufacturer is giving its gravel bike a makeover with a new colour scheme.

After one season, Megamo is launching its most versatile gravel bike, the West, for the 2027 model year with a revamped colour scheme. Weighing from 8.6 kilograms, the bike is aimed at a wide range of riders and strikes a balance between multi-day bikepacking tours and demanding gravel races. It is available in Black, Coral and Sand.

Focus on driving comfort

The West’s design is consistently geared towards riding stability and comfort, which is reflected in its geometry specifications. A generous bottom bracket drop of 75 to 77 millimetres ensures a low centre of gravity, whilst the flat head angle of between 69.5° and 70.5° ensures directional stability at high speeds and under load.

With a stack-to-reach ratio of around 1.6, the bike positions the rider in a comparatively upright, fatigue-free riding position for long distances. At the same time, the 430-millimetre chainstays are designed to ensure agility. This sets the West apart from its more aggressive sister model, the ‘Silk’, which is more race-oriented and demanding.

Ready for an adventure

Designed for adventure riding, the carbon frame features an integrated, internal storage compartment for tools or inner tubes, as well as numerous mounting points. The carbon fork alone has three threaded eyelets on each side for attaching lowrider racks or bottle cages. The tyre width is officially approved for tyres up to 50 millimetres wide.

Features and variants

The entry-level model in the range is the West 15, priced at 2,399 euros, which is the only model to feature a Shimano GRX 2x11 drivetrain. The higher-end models (West 10 to West 01) use electronic or mechanical SRAM single-chainring groupsets (1x12). Whilst the entry-level models are fitted with aluminium components, the top-of-the-range models feature carbon handlebars and carbon seatposts for better vibration damping. The dropouts are also compatible with the SRAM UDH standard.
