With Giant, the largest bicycle manufacturer in the world is entering the suspension gravel bike segment. The Giant Revolt X comes with a Rockshox suspension fork, telescopic seat post and ample tyre clearance. The new model, which is based on a hardtail MTB, will only be available in Germany in one equipment variant.

After the new gravel bike from the Taiwanese industry giant was already on display at some online retailers, Giant has now officially released the Revolt X. With a Rudy suspension fork from Rockshox with 40 millimetres of suspension travel, the new bike promises the riding experience of a hardtail MTB. Already the Revolt Advanced Pro 1 was able to convince in the TOUR test with excellent comfort. Before Giant, BMC (Urs LT), Cannondale (Topstone Carbon Lefty) or Specialised (Diverge STR) Gravel bikes with suspension presented.

As with the Revolt without suspension fork, the wheelbase on the rear triangle of the X model can also be adjusted by 10 millimetres. In the short position, Giant promises agile handling; in the long position, the gravel bike should be more stable - and offer space for tyres up to 53 millimetres wide. The new bike comes from the factory with 45 millimetre tyres. Giant has also fitted the Revolt X with a telescopic seatpost with an installation dimension of 30.9 millimetres.

Only one equipment variant for 5999 euros

The Taiwanese company did not provide any information on the complete wheel weight of the Revolt X gravel bike. For comparison: the Revolt Advanced Pro 1 weighed in at 8.2 kilos on the TOUR scales. The new carbon gravel bike is only available in Germany in one configuration. With a combined single drivetrain from SRAM (Rival and GX Eagle) and carbon wheels (Giant CXR X1), the Giant Revolt X Advanced Pro 1 costs €5999. According to the manufacturer, the new model will be available from late summer 2023.
