The new Revolts are equipped with a flip-chip dropout on the rear wheel, with which the wheelbase can be adjusted by 10 mm to adapt the bike to different terrains or to use a tyre with a larger diameter.
According to the Giant press release, the new Revolt Advanced Pro is lighter than the previous models. A new advanced-grade frame and an advanced SL carbon fork together save 200 grams compared to the previous generation. The Revolt Advanced has the same frame and an advanced-grade carbon fork, which together save 160 g compared to the previous generation.
Both new models have a shorter wheelbase and lower fork travel, giving the bike a more responsive ride feel. Geometry updates also include a longer reach - now 387 mm compared to 381 mm on the previous generation for a mid-size frame - and a 1 degree steeper head angle (71.5 degrees compared to 70.5 degrees). The bottom bracket has also been lowered by 10 mm (80 mm compared to 70 mm).
All new Revolt bikes have a lower seat stay transition with thinner tube diameters to improve the compliance of the rear triangle. The Revolt Advanced Pro models are equipped with carbon handlebars and the Revolt Advanced models with aluminium handlebars. Both series are equipped with carbon wheels.
Delivery to specialist dealers is scheduled for this month - Giant does not mention sales prices in its press release.
