The most important recognisable feature of Giant's time trial bike is the aerodynamic stem. The design also stabilises the front end as it additionally supports the handlebars on the fork crown. Because the design has since been banned by the UCI, Giant also offers a different fork with a conventional stem for UCI races. The "illegal" version we tested is just behind the best in the wind tunnel. The handlebar positioning concept is exemplary: three differently angled stems in combination with the three frame sizes and spacers allow 18 centimetres of height adjustment of the armrests. This means that both radical and moderate riding positions are possible. The Di2 electronic shifting system is a logical choice. The integrated brakes decelerate moderately, the saddle adjustment seems somewhat improvised.
