The tour books Niederrhein mit dem Gravelbike and München und Umgebung mit dem Gravelbike have recently been published by Bruckmann Verlag and present 20 and 22 discovery tours respectively through the respective regions.
Both books start with an overview table of all the tours. This makes it easy to decide which tour to put on the sat nav today. This is followed by a few explanations about the book and the subject of environmental protection, the bike and more. Then the tours begin. The authors live in the respective region and know their way around. In addition to tour descriptions, interesting facts and tips are shared. The GPX files for the navigation device can be downloaded after purchasing the book.
The authors Jessica Holst and Yvonne Streit take you on tours around Munich - and by that they mean around Munich. They don't just head south, but in all directions. Jessica Holst is an established member of the Munich cycling community, leads group rides and is always on the lookout for new routes. After a day at her desk, the author often relaxes with a leisurely bike ride. Yvonne Streit also enjoys spending her free time on her bike. She explores the immediate Munich area on her gravel bike. Bikepacking tours lasting several days sometimes take the author further afield.
Lothar Schmidt and Johannes Pöttgens have teamed up to compile 22 gravel tours on the Lower Rhine, written about them and captured the tours in photographs. The book was published on 20 March 2024. Journalist and travel book author Lothar Schmidt actually focuses on travelling in Spain. With the book Niederrhein mit dem Gravelbike, he wants to show that it is also beautiful right on the doorstep in North Rhine-Westphalia and that gravel tours there are at least as worthwhile. Johannes Pöttgens is a freelance photographer in Düsseldorf. He has been on his bike since childhood and is always on the lookout for new and beautiful gravel routes between the Rhine and the Meuse.
