The road from Oberursel (Hohemark) to the Großer Feldberg is a legendary climb in German road cycling - Eddy Merckx and Rudi Altig have already ridden the mountain in races. The climb reaches its annual climax during the Eschborn-Frankfurt professional race and the associated ADAC Velotour. There are also segments that start in the centre of Oberursel and therefore offer even more metres in altitude. The ascent from Oberursel is more constant than from Königstein. The road is mostly in the low percentage range - it is only in the last section that it climbs between six and eight per cent for a long time. The mountain in the Taunus is popular because it is the highest in the area and is easy to reach from Frankfurt. Unfortunately, this also means heavy traffic of motorbikes and cars at the weekend. It is therefore worth avoiding the rush hours. The big names in international cycling have already ridden the climb in races - but they have not set the KOM. Three-time e-cycling world champion Jason Osborn holds the record for the fastest time for men, while three-time Ötztaler winner Janine Meyer holds the record for the fastest time for women.
