Tour 1 (102 kilometres, 1,550 metres in altitude, max. 11 % gradient)
Albtrauf circuit
The aim of this varied tour is to cover as many Alpine ascents and descents as possible. The individual climbs are not too steep and easy to master, but all in all they work your legs. A large part of the tour is on minor roads, but some kilometres are also busier, especially near Lenningen. Between Marbach and Münsingen, the route runs on fine gravel for one kilometre. Towards the end, the climb to Erkenbrechtsweiler is a real highlight. The tour can be shortened in several places, for example you can cycle from Grabenstetten directly to Bad Urach instead of via Lenningen.
Tour 2 (95 kilometres, 1,300 metres in altitude, max. 12 % gradient)
On the Alb plateau
Although the tour runs on the Alb plateau, it covers many metres in altitude. The climbs are mostly quite short, but crisp. The so-called Promillsteige to Hülben, on which we start, is hardly used outside of a short rush hour. Almost the entire route runs on side roads. The traffic-free crossing of the former military training area is particularly beautiful. Between Wasserstetten and Ödenwaldstetten, you need to be careful in the forest as there are several cycle paths.
