The most beautiful tours in East Frisia lead along the dyke. Always flat - and always windy. GPS data for two tours is available here, the full story in TOUR 3/2018

Tour 1 (100 kilometres, 200 metres in altitude, max. 3% gradient on the dyke)
Lighthouse tour

Firstly, criss-cross through the Krummhörn, through small villages with imposing brick churches and the most crooked church tower in the world; you can even take a small diversions to Suurhusen near Hinte. From the pretty harbour village of Rysum, the route only runs along the dyke, sometimes on the outside, sometimes on the inside. Past the Campen lighthouse and the famous "Otto lighthouse" near Pilsum back to Greetsiel.

Tour 2 (96 kilometres, 150 metres in altitude, max. 3% gradient on the dyke)
Störtebeker tour

Along the Störtebeker Canal, at the end of Leybucht onto the dyke path to Norddeich. Pass Norddeich-Mole and continue initially on the seaward side of the dyke. Before the Finkenheller salt marsh belt, switch to the land side and continue along the dyke to Dornumersiel. Back to Greetsiel through the inland, past Marienhafe, where the pirate Klaus Störtebeker once lived when he was not at sea.
