The higher you get, the more beautiful the view becomes: this is also the case on the western ramp to the Sudelfeld Pass
Between Bayrischzell and the Inn Valley, the Sudelfeldstraße (Sudelfeld Pass 1,123 m) winds its way through a picture-book Bavarian landscape.

Grazing cows on lush alpine meadows, overlooked by the mighty summit of the Wendelstein. For climbers, the motto is therefore: enjoy instead of race. The short western ramp begins in the picturesque village of Bayrischzell. The gradient begins abruptly and levels out at an average of eight per cent up to the top of the pass. With every metre you gain in altitude, the view back down into the valley and of the Wendelstein rock massif becomes more beautiful. The unadorned pass summit, on the other hand, is hidden in the forest. At just under 16 kilometres, the eastern ramp starting in the Inn Valley, just before the Austrian border, is around four times as long - and is peppered with more than 700 metres of elevation gain. However, these are served up in easily digestible bites, interspersed with flat sections.

The steepest ramp, at 13 per cent, awaits cyclists after about one kilometre. Here you need to take a deep breath and stay relaxed, because as soon as a sign announces the Hummelei inn, the hardest part is already over. From now on, the narrow road winds comfortably into the narrow valley. The gradient only picks up again from the Feuriger Tatzlwurm inn. The now wider road winds its way up to the alpine pastures of the Sudelfeld. The circular tour is highly recommended (see Tour 1), on which you also get to know the third ramp from Brannenburg, which joins the east ramp at the Tatzlwurm inn.
